Instructions for presence
  1. Acquire a writing utensil and something to write on.
  2. Find a place where you are alone — preferably somewhere unfamiliar to you, or somewhere that holds significance for you.
  3. On the front of your surface, draw something in your immediate vicinity. Focus on drawing the truth of the object, not a perfect representation of it. Look with intention at each detail that you draw; you should be looking at what you are drawing more than at your surface.
  4. On the back of the surface, add the date and the time, and then write your present thoughts. Write your true thoughts, without filtering them.
  5. Keep the card to yourself, perhaps somewhere special. If you feel so inclined, upload it here, anonymously.

Everyone can draw. The fear of being inaccurate is what stops most people, and accuracy was never the point — a drawing that shows one person's truth is worth more than a perfect picture.
